***Kula Community Watershed Alliance - Strives to stabilize, protect, restore, and maintain the burned areas and beyond. Kula Community Watershed Alliance is a land restoration initiative led by many of the fire survivors living in the burned areas of the August 2023 wildfire that devastated Kula, Maui. With the guidance of subject matter experts, and a team of advisors, we have joined together as neighbors in unified support of our land‘s recovery from the fires and the establishment of a safer montane landscape and optimum watershed health in our area.

*** https://www.hawaiitourismauthority.org/ - The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority (HTA) has launched “Mākaukau Maui,” a campaign that aims to revitalize Maui’s economy in the aftermath of last year’s devastating wildfires. Apart from the fire-affected areas of Lahaina Town, the campaign signals that Maui is ready to welcome visitors back to the island.
*** https://guyfierifoundation.ejoinme.org/chefsformaui - Fieri organized “Chefs for Maui,” a dinner in Sonoma, California, which drew support from 38 award-winning chefs, celebrity friends, foodies and world-renowned restauranteurs. The sold-out event raised over $1.5 million, which was donated to the HRA and Salvation Army Hawaiʻi. A portion of those proceeds went toward purchasing these prepaid debit cards for Maui restaurant workers.

The Kāko‘o Maui Fund is a donation campaign to aid communities impacted by the Maui wildfires. CNHA is seeking support from corporate, philanthropic, and organizational matching funders to incentivize small dollar donations and to support our communities. Donations received will go to Maui-based relief efforts, with focus on Native Hawaiian organizations, small businesses, ‘ohana, and cultural groups.

*** https://www.medb.org/ - Maui Economic Development Board (MEDB) and the Principal Foundation have partnered to provide funds to small businesses directly impacted by the Aug. 8 wildfires in Upcountry and Lahaina. A total of 95 businesses are eligible for the Maui Business Recovery Fund, according to a news release from MEDB. Single payments for the $1,000 grants will be issued over the next week. Applications were open for a brief period in September, and priority consideration was given to applicants whose physical businesses were within the fire impact zones.
