***https://coconene.com/ - After losing their flagship store on Front Street in Lahaina last year, CocoNene founders Kent and Lori Untermann opened another Maui store in December at the Maui Harbor Shops in Maʻalaea. CocoNene is a retailer that designs, produces and sells its own products in Hawaiʻi. The business is “deeply rooted in the island lifestyle and Hawaiʻi’s gift-giving culture,” the Untermanns said. ***https://www.ululanishawaiianshaveice.com/ - Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice - The company has raised funds on GoFundMe to help support staff members. Co-owners Charlotte and David Yamashiro and Brad Edgerton had been growing the business when the fires erupted. They still have a combined 10 locations in Hawaiʻi, Texas and California. However, the Front Street store had been its highest-grossing spot. They plan to move forward on Maui and elsewhere with a franchise model while retaining their employees who aren’t quite ready to come back to work after all they’ve been through.
***Alaska Airlines, Marriott International, and Disneyland Resort - A travel gift program was announced providing more than 3,000 roundtrip Alaska Airlines flights, as well as Disneyland tickets and accommodations to Maui families affected by the Aug. 8 wildfires. The Maui Care Flights begin with 180 individuals aboard a special charter flight from Maui to Disneyland, July 11-14, 2024. That will be followed by 180 roundtrip tickets per month on Alaska Airlines from August 2024 through December 2025. Airline representatives say this will provide opportunities for more than 3,000 impacted Maui residents to take a trip at their convenience anywhere Alaska flies. Hotel stays for the Disneyland trip are provided by Marriott International with Disneyland Resort assisting to make the visit possible with two day park hopper passes. The grant is the largest awarded by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Relief Foundation (RRF) since 9/11.

In addition to collecting donations at its branches for the “Aloha for Maui” initiative, the bank collaborated with the Guy Fieri Foundation, Hawaiʻi Restaurant Association and Fiserv to distribute nearly $900,000 in prepaid debit cards to support Lahaina restaurant workers affected by the wildfires.
